The Pomsky is a mixed dog breed whose parents are the Siberian Husky and the Pomeranian. The big difference between the parent dog breeds is why most Pmoskies are made with the help of artificial insemination. This makes them very pricey and can be quite sensitive. You will have to feed them only high-end quality food along with the right supplements. This way, they’ll be able to live a long and completely normal life.
In this article, we’ll talk about this dog breed’s diet and what other foods you can use as occasional treats.

The Pomsky Diet
The Pomsky has low-to-medium levels of energy and it usually grows to be between 10 to 15 inches in height and 7 to 38 pounds in weight. This means that their diet needs to be carefully made for small dogs that are not extremely energetic. If you take care of their diet properly, you can expect to enjoy the companionship of a Pomsky somewhere between 12 and 15 years.
Since this dog is much better suited for an experienced owner, homemade food is the best option. But if you’re not very good at it or you simply don’t have the time for it, you should be able to find commercial food great for your dog as well. It’s recommended to add a few berries and supplements to most meals to ensure your Pomsky has all the nutrients it needs.
Besides energy levels, you should also feed your dog based on its weight. A Pomsky that weighs between 3 to 12 pounds should be offered between 1/3 to 1 cup of dry food a day. A general guideline is o offer between 1 to 1/3 cups for 13 to 20 pounds, 1-1/3 to 2 cups for 21 to 35 pounds, and 2 to 2-2/3 cups for 36 to 50 pounds. But this is just to help you have an idea of how much food a dog eats every day. The exact amount will be found on any dog food package as it depends from product to product due to the different nutrients.
Can Pomskies eat chicken? Raw or Cooked?
Pomskies, like most dogs, love chicken, and this type of meat is a great meat source for them. It’s rich in nutrients and it can be consumed both raw or cooked. It all depends on how safe the meat you’re getting actually is. If you’re not sure, then cooking it is the best option.
Raw bones are recommended over the cooked ones as they don’t splinter. You also should cook the chicken plain, without adding garlic, onion, condiments, etc. Table scraps are not recommended as they contain too many condiments for them.
How about Peanut Butter?
Peanut butter always makes a motivational treat for dogs in training. But it’s also great if you just want to give your dogs something tasty now and then. However, pay attention to what the peanut butter contains as in recent years many companies started marketing towards diabetics as well. They do this by adding an artificial sweetener that allows diabetic people to enjoy peanut butter as well. However, it’s extremely toxic to dogs and other animals.
Can Pomskies eat eggs?

Is Turkey Meat OK for Pomskies?
Turkey meat is often seen as dangerous for dogs because most people tend to give their pet Thanksgiving dinner scraps. But if the meat is raw or cooked plainly, then it’s perfectly safe.
Can Pomskies eat cheese?
Cheese can be a motivational treat during training sessions and it’s also very delicious. But if you choose the wrong type of cheese, your pet can suffer the consequences. Avoid feeding your Pomsky blue cheese and other cheeses that have extra ingredients for flavor. This includes herbs, onion, garlic, etc.
Can Pomsky Dogs Eat Apples?
Apples are very delicious and dogs love them as well. And as long as you remove the seeds, which contain a bit of cyanide, apples are 100% safe. They’ll also do a great job at tricking your dog into cleaning its own teeth effortlessly and their breath will improve as well.
How about Oranges?

Can Pomskies eat grapes?
Grapes are highly toxic to dogs and the terrifying thing about them is that some dogs can die if they eat too many grapes and their bodies are weak against the toxic substance. There isn’t much information available on why do grapes affect dogs so much, but the good news is that some dogs might get away with nothing but an upset stomach. Even so, avoid grapes at all costs even if they are peeled and have no seeds.
Can you give them blueberries?
